"You will know the truth and the truth will make you free." --Jesus

This book was written for hurting people. In easy-to-understand language, pastor and author Glenn Dorsey shows how unseen emotional wounds "act out" in human behavior, and how unhealed wounds create strongholds that keep us chained in guilt, depression and despair.

Freedom and healing come when we understand truth, confront our problems, and appropriate the promises of God's Word.  "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Heb. 4:12).

It is the truth we know that makes us free.

If you struggle with depression, guilt or emotional scars, this is a book you must read.

"I commend to you the ministry of Pastor Glenn Dorsey. As you read Out of the Snare of the Fowler, you will gain spiritual insights and scriptural instructions to enhance your quest for victory. I read his book with much profit. Especially helpful is chapter 5, "What Must I Surrender to be Free?"  His book contains answers that I will surely share with others and those I counsel."
  --Mrs. Johanna (Alton) Garrison
"Desert nomads have a proverb: The greatest sin is to have water and be unwilling to share it. Glenn Dorsey has found water and is willing to share it. He paid the price to drill to a deeper level of God's Word and locate life-changing answers. His answers are given from the perspective of long years of pastoral ministry, personal experience and a willingness to identify the presence of demonic influence in today's world."

FORWARD
The breakup of the American family, the absence of fathers, and the consequences of rapid change in our culture is bringing into the Church people with intense emotional pain. Pastors often express frustration as they counsel those with severe spiritual "wounds."  Praying a simple prayer at the end of a brief session seems to bring little comfort to individuals with serious, ongoing needs.

Certainly, counseling, prayer and spiritual warfare have a special place in ministry. But a person with emotional pain must be confronted with truth before healing can occur.

The Word of God is truth and can do what no person can. "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Heb. 4:12).

An individual's actions are based on beliefs he assumes to be truth. Sadly, people with emotional trauma have thoughts about themselves and their life situations that are not true. False beliefs bring deception and bondage.

My goal in this book is to present a scriptural method for healing emotional pain. Our provision for healing is centered in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:32).  We must know truth if we are to be free. Truth is the medicine of emotional healing. The pharmacy is the Bible, the physician is the Holy Spirit.

It is my prayer that this book given understanding about the manifestation of certain spirits of oppression in human behavior, and how these can be confronted.

May you be strengthened and empowered as you pursue emotional healing and deliverance through Jesus Christ!
